Experience

• 07/2009 - 11/2009 1st year Design and Sustainability tutor + Guest lecturer :: Victoria University - Wellington, New Zealand :: www.victoria.ac.nz/fad Tutoring first year students in design and history/theory core paper on sustainability. I was able to engage with the students and stimulate discussion. This was apparent in the positive course feedback from the students. Working as a mentor to first year students and practicing leadership to provide direction, guidance and support for the course. • 2011 - 2014 Jasmax :: Auckland, Christchurch, New Zealand :: www.jasmax.com Working for the biggest Architecture firm in NZ consisting of 200+ staff. Involved in large scale tertiary projects, proactively engaged in creating all aspects of the design phase from Pre Concept Design to Developed Design phase. In 2013, I transferred to the Christchurch branch to help with the rebuild due to the earthquake that ravaged the city in Feb 2011. I’ve worked on various projects ranging from education, commercial, residential, civic, temporary, small to large projects dealing with mainly front end of the project but being exposed to various aspects of the building process whether it is dealing with consultants to engaging with clients. I was part of the “Green team” implementing sustainable operations in the office. --------------------------------------------------------------- I've always been interesting in teaching and both of my parents have a teaching background so I guess it runs in the family. I've taught english in Korea for 2 months during my studies and have done a lot of part time tutoring during my studies. In the long run I would like to get registered as an architect, do my PhD and return to the academia to be a lecturer. This is my passion and my goal! I've always felt that teaching is second nature to me. I'm in a position where I can say I have studied in the field of architecture for 7 years (Bachelors and masters) and have been working in the field for the last 4 years so I have a good understanding of both the academic and the working world.
